Data stays between you and your collaborators

CoFolder connects devices directly (peer-to-peer). Your files, edits, and folder contents are transmitted only between the devices of people you share a session code with. They never pass through or are stored on our servers — there are no servers holding your data.

No accounts, no tracking

CoFolder does not require an account. We do not collect personal data, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. This website is served statically and sets no cookies; the only thing stored locally is your light/dark theme preference.

Downloads

Installers and update metadata are distributed via GitHub Releases. When you download CoFolder, GitHub processes the request according to its privacy statement. We receive no personal data from your download.

AI features

If you connect your own AI provider API key, requests are sent directly from your device to that provider. Their privacy policy applies to those requests. Keys are stored locally in your operating system's secure credential storage and never leave your device otherwise.

Local storage

App data (settings, session history, logs) is stored on your device under %APPDATA%\CoFolder. Uninstalling keeps this data by default; you can opt to delete it during uninstallation.
